Fresh 48
Those first hours after your baby arrives are like no other — raw, beautiful, emotional, and fleeting. A Fresh 48 session gently captures the very beginning of your baby’s story: the tiny fingers, the first yawns, the cuddles, the wonder in everyone’s eyes.
These sessions are held within the first 24–48 hours after birth, right there in the hospital where your little one has just arrived. There’s no posing, props, or pressure — just honest, love-filled moments as they naturally unfold.
I photograph Fresh 48 sessions at Mater Mothers Private, Mater Mothers Brisbane, Greenslopes Private, Logan Hospital, Gold Coast Hospital, and other hospitals across South-East Queensland.
Whether it’s documenting the moment your older children meet their new sibling for the first time, those quiet snuggles between feeds, or the tiny details that change far too quickly, these photographs become a priceless record of the very start of your family’s next chapter.
You don’t need to worry about a thing — I work quietly and respectfully around your space and your baby’s needs, ensuring the focus remains entirely on the connection and love in those first precious hours.
These moments only happen once. Let’s capture them before they slip away.
Investment
Session fee $200.
This locks in your session and includes photographers time and travel.
All artwork and digital files are sold separately.
Gabrielle Meade Photography is a full service photographer specialising in archival grade artwork. I only take on a few clients each month to ensure I am available for your birth. Your images deserve their own space in the world, printed for the wall or an album, not lost in the depths of your phone image folder or the laptop that just crashed and lost them all.
Wall art pricing starts at $450, with digital packages from $600.

The process
1
You secure your session by paying your session fee.
This will occur whilst you are still pregnant.
I take details like estimated due date and birthing hospital to make a rough plan.
2
Baby on the way!
Let me know as soon as you're comfortable that baby has arrived, or is on the way!
3
I visit you whilst you're still in hospital to take some once-in-a-lifetime shots of your new arrival, focussing on all the tiny details and candid shots of your new family.
I will shoot for as long as we need. I know life with a newborn, and baby makes the schedule. There's no rush.

Your image gallery will then be sent within 1-2 weeks for you to make your image decisions.
If you opt in, a watermarked sneak peek will be put up on social media that you can share.
If you would like to pre-pay for digital images to introduce your little one to the world, these can be rushed for a 24h turn-around if you are wanting them for a birth announcement.
